Journeys With Learning Distance Learning Box Overview
How does it work?
I will provide a broad, balanced, and standards-linked curriculum through individualized activities that appeal to students' interests. Resources, including activity materials and instructions for presenting the activities, are delivered in a box each week. Parents may choose to present the learning themselves or employ personal tutors to deliver the learning activities to them. The learning activities are projected to take 10 hours a week to complete.
At the start of the program, I will meet with the parties involved, to introduce the program and best practices to deliver a child-led program. Regular text, or email communication will ensure that activities are adapted as students progress in their learning and their progress is recorded. Once a quarter, I will meet with the parties involved to review the student’s progress and set learning goals for the next quarter.
While I will provide an individualized standards-based curriculum, I am not considered an educational service provider or a private school. It is up to the parent to determine state and local laws regarding how this distance learning program will align with the educational needs of your child.

- The parents are responsible for paying tutors and any other financial considerations incurred by their employment (insurance, payroll, taxes, etc.)
- A budget for community learning (e.g., to a store, restaurant, etc.)
- A budget for cooking ingredients for weekly cooking challenges.
